I mainly use it for doing backups, with duplicity. Booting it on demand is quite nice concerning this.

having SSH access and a package manager available is quite cool, too.(though this stuff isn&#039;t there out of the box)

you could implement yourself if you know how to write bash stuff.
in case of openwrt it shouldn&#039;t be to hard. just ssh login issuing an reboot.</description>
